Eligibility
Globally, women represent twenty-five percent of the aerospace industry workforce. Zonta’s mission is to ensure that women have access to all resources and are equally represented in decision-making positions compared to men. Therefore, Zonta International offers the Amelia Earhart Award. This annual award is presented to women worldwide who have earned a Ph.D./doctorate in aeronautical sciences or aerospace engineering and are eligible for this award. We ask them to demonstrate an outstanding academic record. Postdoctoral research programs do not qualify for the Fellowship. Members and employees of Zonta International or the Zonta International Foundation are also not eligible for the Fellowship. Current grantees wishing to extend their Fellowship for a second year can apply under the same application and evaluation procedures as a first-time applicant.
Application process
The Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship Committee reviews the submitted applications. They then recommend the recipients to the Zonta International Board. All applicants will be notified of their status by the end of April.
