Women in Business Scholarship – JMK
The Jane M. Klausman (JMK) Women in Business Scholarship program was established to encourage women to enter careers and to seek leadership positions in business. The program ultimately seeks to influence business decisions that positively affect women by increasing the number of women in executive positions in the field of business management.
Since the inception of the program in 1998, Zonta has awarded 640 Scholarships (includes international awards and second award recipients), totaling more than US$1.5 million, to 492 women from 58 countries.
The program operates at the Zonta club, district and international levels.
Zonta clubs provide awards for club recipients.
Zonta International offers scholarships of two thousand dollars (US$2,000) at the district/region level (one (1) per district/region) and
Six (6) international scholarships in the amount of eight thousand dollars (US$8,000) each.
The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships are awarded annually and may be used for tuition, books or living expenses at any university, college or institution offering accredited business courses and degrees.
Women of any age, pursuing a business program with major field of specialization in accounting, economics, finance, business management, marketing, operations management, human resources management, international business, or entrepreneurship at an accredited university/college/institute, who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field and are living or studying in a Zonta district/region are eligible. Online students are also eligible to apply if enrolled at an accredited university/college/institute.
The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship program operates at the club, district and international levels of Zonta International. To apply, please contact the Zonta club nearest you. Applications received by Zonta clubs generally in April/May each year. Applicants must be nominated by a local Zonta club. Applications selected by Zonta clubs are sent to their respective Zonta governors. A district evaluating committee selects one applicant per district to submit to Zonta International Headquarters. The Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship Committee selects twelve international recipients from the district applicants.
